+ When and where is The Princess Project?
The Princess Project holds its Giveaway Events each spring in preparation for prom season. Please see our Get A Dress page for details (or follow us on Instagram @princessprojectsonoma to be the first to know about upcoming dates)
+ Are the dresses and accessories really free?
Everything is really free! The Princess Project receives new and nearly new dresses and accessories from women, teens, and companies from across Sonoma County – all intended for Sonoma County area high school teens to receive free of charge.
+ How much time do I have to shop?
Each teen gets one hour to shop for a dress, as we don’t have the space or the staff to accommodate longer appointments.
+ How do I sign up to attend a giveaway?

Volunteers
+ Do you need volunteers?
Absolutely, volunteers are key to the success of The Princess Project. Through our Dress Giveaway events, volunteers help reach hundreds of high school teens making their dream prom become a reality. Learn more in the Volunteer section of our site.
+ What kind of volunteers do you need?
We need volunteers on our leadership board, in our committees and at our events. Depending on the time you have and the commitment level you can give, we have a role for anyone wanting to work with The Princess Project Sonoma County in support of our mission and goals.
+ How do I organize a dress drive?
Organize friends, colleagues or your volunteer group to gather their gorgeous gowns and sparkling tiaras to breathe new life into them and pass them along to The Princess Project and the teens we serve. Contact us for a Donation Drive Kit, it outlines how to collect dresses and accessories for The Princess Project.
+ How do I start a similar dress giveaway project in my community?
The Princess Project is incorporated and retains all rights to its name and logo. We do, however, welcome your inquiry to start new Princess Project chapters in your community. For more information, please contact us.
Donors & Sponsors
+ Can I make a tax-deductible cash donation to The Princess Project?
Yes! The incredible success of The Princess Project is due to the generosity of people just like you. We are a 100% volunteer-run effort, and all gifts go toward The Princess Project Dress Giveaway events. Your donation may help pay for racks, dry cleaning, publicity materials or dresses sizes 0-2 or size 18+. Our EIN is 20-1392257.
Please click the Donate button on our website to make a tax deductible donation.
You will receive a thank you letter shortly after making your donation, acknowledging receipt of your contribution for tax accounting purposes.
+ What garments donations are best for The Princess Project?
If you wouldn’t wear it tomorrow don’t donate it today. We accept new or nearly new formal gowns and accessories in EXCELLENT condition (including purses, jewelry, shawls and wraps) appropriate for high school teens to wear to prom. Find out more details on our Donate a Dress page.
+ I am a retailer/corporation/organization looking to make a large in-kind donation. How do I proceed?
If you represent a business seeking to make a major in-kind dress or accessory donation, please contact us for information at sonomacounty@princessproject.org
+ What is the difference between a sponsor and a donor?
Our sponsors include financial or in-kind goods donated to The Princess Project in return for marketing and public relations through our social media sites and at our events. Philanthropic financial and in-kind donors support our cause and receive a tax receipt. There is no public recognition of their gift(s).
